We are using all avenues of the social media because this is the world we live in and an added advantage to our website. We generate a good number of inquiries, and that is of course very important to us.
We do have a Facebook page. In today's culture, social media is the fastest and most responded to way of communicating with current and future students. It provides a great way to stay connected with them for how they are doing as well as new things that are taking place at the school.
Our school has facebook, twitter, linkedin, and youtube account. We try to keep them up to date with student activities, seminars, workshops, and every time we have an Open House.
The use of Social Media definitely gives a dynamic look to the institution.
My school has yet to use social media...but I can see a definite benefit to its use...I am going to be recommending it...but we'll proceed with caution...

We dont use twitter and facebook is used only as an advertising billboard. Due to the fire academy being part of a municipal organization, we have been very careful as to what is posted as well as who as access to the site for posting purposes.
We use it to inform followers about upcoming events, important activities, and to generate interest and awareness. Personally not being a fan of social media, I do recognize it's impacts and that many of the populace - old and new, do follow it.
Our school currently does not have a Facebook or Twitter although I believe it would be a great marketing strategy due to current technological advances.

Yes. I utilize both. However I can understand how at times in can get some people in "trouble". It is importnat for our school to utilize these new social media outlets. However, they are highly regulated by a specific department that watches these sites closely and reports any misuse.
I am very excited that my institution chose to promote our campus through Social Media. It has impacted our students population tremendously.
