This is the best idea for admissions in this state. While being compliant it helps continue the compiance and up to date on all Ohio laws for our occupation to be effective.

I completely agree! There are a few instructors I am yet to me and having the bio helps me to better understant the instructors and even allow me to answer questions the students have.
I have put everything into my resource notebook. From the overview requirements to terms to the rules/laws. Something that I didn't know was that if a rep worked for two different schools, they had to obtain seperate permits for each school. Why is that? Other then that, I really didn't descover anything else that I didn't know about the institution or the rules
The information placed in my resource notebook are various pages of the Ohio State Board of Colleges and Schools. Some of the pages include but are not limeted to The Mission Statement, the rules and regulations of being an agent, and commonly used terms an agent will see.
I didn't know that an institution can deny an agent the certificate permit upon their discression.
My resource notebook contains everything that is in our campus catalog.
It also has names of graduates who have gone on to become very successful, not to mention graduates who are employed at the Campus.
Little things that mean so much to prospective students that we over look are directions to the campus, restaurants, and day care centers. Telephone numbers, faxes, emails, and the names of current high school guidance councelors for easy access when a prospective student is requesting a transcript.
I agree, You have a great resource book.
After 17 years of working in admissions I have accumulated so much info . In order to keep my ntebook updated I start a new notebook every year.
Good luck to all

Shawn,
I also keep a notebook full of information regarding rules and regulations as well as location specific information.
I have placed the Agents/Admission Reps Regulatory Laws/Rules information in my Resource Notebook. Something I have discovered that I did not previously know is that if a student is hoping to pursue a career that requires licensure or other certification, we must notify that student of that.
I would like to piggy back off of Jenny, I agree that having a section for updated memos & catalog addendums is great. This makes managing our constant changing environment much easier.
I have placed the rules and regulations in my notebook. So far, through module 1, I havent see or read much that I didnt already know. As an agent that is RENEWING a license, not applying for a new one, is the application/background check still required?
i recieved the list of websites to put together the notebook to be prepared for future discussions with prospective students
The resource notebook is a great tool for agents to use. It keeps things organized and helps to have something to refer back to if there are any questions.
The notebook has been a great resource to fall back on when potential students have questions or fears that need answered right away.
I have started with Agents/Admissions Reps Laws and Rules. I didnt know if someone was working from another state they still had to do Ohios training. also I did not know lisencure is good for 5 yrs.
As I just started the course yesterday, to date I have added the Agents/Admission Reps Regulatory Laws/Rules, which includes Rules 3332-1-17, 3332-1-17.2, 3332-1-17-1, as well as the web link for the Application for Agent's Permit, Form PSR 0016. I will be adding our school catalog, course outline, available payment plan options, and other pertinent program information.
What I discovered when reading and re-reading the Agents/Admission Reps Regulatory Laws/Rules is how extensive, yet clear cut, the expectations are for Agents and Admissions Representatives, as well as the respective school. I agree wholeheartedly that there needs to be processes/procedures/rules in place for schools and their Agents/Admission Representatives to abide by. Providing clear-cut rules provides an understanding of what is to be expected of each Agent/Admissions Representative and their respective school. This is great information to know and follow!
It would also be helpful to provide a checklist to the new student as well so they have a reference guide to follow and can anticipate what they will need to do next and in the expected time line.
What a great tool your employer provided for you during your employment training! Although many employers have now moved to electronic versions of their catalog, program offerings, etc., and do not offer hard-print copies any longer, having your new employer provide this information to you upon hire is invaluable. Great idea!
This notebook is going to be a great aid as I start this new career, especially coming from a different industry.
I put the rules and regulations, information from reading material, and helpful websites in my Resource Notebook. I also put a phone list of extensions and information pertinent to compliance issues. All information through rules and regulations was new to me. I learned that you can't promise anything to a student and you need to explain everything up front. I had no idea there were so many rules and regulations to follow. I was also unaware of advertising standards.
