If there are any changes in the regulations that govern my activities, they are brought up immediately to myself and the other reps. We work in a bullpen setting which allows for quick 2-minute meetings if there is an issue that comes up.
Through our weekly training sessions, we are constantly being made aware of any changes in the rules and regs that might affect our activities. Of course, through my membership in OACAC, I have specific do's and don'ts which regulate my "in-the-field" activities.
Also by continung checking the OACCS website I/we can be made aware of up-to-date information!
Checking the OACCS web site on a regular basis, and co-workers!!!
As rules/regulations are updated and brought to the attention of our supervisors/managers, we receive prompt emails. We have daily "stand-up" meetings in which updates/observations are shared. We have weekly staff meetings as well.
I learned various rules by studying the catalog and asking my supervisor questions.
I typically do not learn that much. I just make sure that I do not do what i am not supposed to do. I did not even know we should keep the rules and regulations in out office as well. some of this may be a bit new to me. this course goes over rules and regulations much more in depth then what I already kow.
We are just starting our program today, so I haven't had a chance to actually have any hands on time as of yet, so basically the only way I am learning at this time, is through this course, and on my own time with my Resource Notebook, which I am glad to have at my finger tips. I find this is very helpful.
Training, training, and more training. Also downloaded chapter 3332: Career Colleges and Schools, have spent time reviewing it, and then taken the knowledge and some checklist from this course to ensure we are in compliance in every area. So far we have been good, and I expect we will stay that way. It is actually a nice feeling looking to see if there are any mistakes in our things and not being able to find any yet. Just the search is helping me learn.
Reading the school catalog, reading the state rules and regs, reading our school's procedures manual, and taking courses like this one. When the director of admission said we were taking this I couse jumped on it. Being an outside rep is at times like being a man without a country. You are usually the last one to know if there are any changes. Because we do our jobs so well sometimes the office forgets we need updated on the lastest changes. I call in frequently so I am not forgotten. My supervisor is more than willing to update me but sometimes I have to prime the pump.
I read our catalog and go over weekly reports in our staff meetings regarding policy changes and activities.
I personally check the rules and regulations once a month, and If I have down time I tend to check more often. It's better to be safe then sorry.
Our chief compliance officer is always in consistant communication with us regarding any changes to regulations or updates even minor ones. We have a hard copy at our finger tips of the course catalog as well.
I have been looking at the site scr.ohio.gov. This site has alot in it and I trying to review everything there.
Thanks for the info
Bob
Bob:
There is a catalog checklist available on our web site at scr.ohio.gov . The checklist can be found with the other "New School Application" forms under the "Forms" heading. There is also an enrollment agreement checklist. These checklists are very useful in determining what items are required to be in the catalog or enrollment agreement.

I have had done forum 1 and forum 3. I must have missed your forum 2.
I have been visiting the web site on www.scr.Ohio.gov and I have been trying to look there plus the course material to see if anything has been updated or missed and still in that process of doing that to see if our activties match between the state requirements and our catalog.

I've just completed Module 2. This is an interesting and informative course! I certainly intend to use the stuff I learn here and couple it with our "In House" material...and continue to read, review, and do.
We use the catalog and internet site as well as a reference point also. We also have meetings regularly and discuss in depth any changes that effect our program. Also, if there are any changes in between our meeting times we will get updates in our emails to inform us. Each year we review things overall as a group and start fresh.
There are many ways that I learn and stay up to date on rules and regulations. We have an internal system that gets updated and we can review. Meetings, verbal and written communication are also other ways I am notified of changes. Or I can simply ask an advisor whenever I have questions regarding rules and regulations.
We do a number of things to learn and explore on the rules that regulate our activities and institution. We do a lot of role playing between co workers, we have daily and weekly training meetings and we often have our supervisors do observations to coach us in the places we lack. Not to mention that our admissions team is a family; I can go to any of my co workers to help me out on any issue. They are all very knowledgeable about our school and once I¡¦m here a little longer, I hope to be just like them ƒº
I also found the OACCS website useful. Since I do a lot of recruiting in Ohio, I plan on checking the website on a regular basis. Good info in a user friendly format.
by reading and learning and understanding as much as you can.
