Being organized and prepared lets give the students confidence in the instructor and give the instructor confidence in themselves. It allows both to see the instructor has plans and knowledge. Gives both the ability to focus on building a rapport or getting directly into the content.
Some of the classes I teach are very busy the first day, and if you’re not prepared, and organized, you'll get behind from the very beginning.
If you expect your students to act professional,
you need to lead by example.
This is true; I promised my students last week that I would do something before the next class, and then I failed to do it. I apologized and made sure I completed that task by the end of that day. I know this failure on my part to keep my work has hurt my credibility and now all I can do is try to regain some of that.

I feel that the days I am prepared early and able to set the stage in my classroom and greet my students as they arrive sets the tone for that whole class--I feel more relaxed and able to conduct the class with more confidence which I believe the students appreciate.
