I have to say that formulating the chart plays a very important and vital role for any institution. The chart lists each individual role and responsibility in the instiution.
I think I've learned a lot about my institution throughout training and continue to stay proactive by attending the different product knowledges we are offered and asking specific questions to the different instructors.
What do I know about my institution? I would say that I am learning more and more every day. I have been here for 5 months now and product knowledge is great when you can understand the field. I would say I am at 75% of the way because of the detailed topics that could be discussed. I sit with staff and faculty quite often and learn more.
Laura,
Great news! Keep on learning.
Karla,
You have taken an excellent path. Good luck on your endeavors.
Erika,
The learning never stops, that is what makes our sector so exciting.
Adam,
Frequently asked questions is a great tool to clear up common inquiries. They should be revisited on a regular basis to ensure they are timely and relevent.
Tracy,
What a great idea!
I have a lot of knowledge about my intitution because I have a great relationship with my co-workers in different departments and I enjoy asking them questions and getting feedback. We even have product knowledge discussions so we can continue to learn.
I have been involved with our school for over 15 years.
I have a very full understanding of our programs, our core values, our code of student conduct, and our code of conduct for our teachers, as I have been invloved in helping to shape all of them over the years.
I have found that as we welcome new students and team members to our school, that the questions and issues tend to be the same ones, and as a result, taking a proactive approach to educating around the "FAQ"'s that we have come to understand make up and color the new student's and / or the new team member's first 2 weeks with us make us much more effective at helping them to adjust quickly to our school and be open to the opportunities that we offer.
I learn something new everyday, as there are always new and individual situations that happen with our students.
I am also continuously learning more about the career fields our students are entering into, from faculty, the news, etc.
I think its quite difficult to rate one's knowledge, as I think we should never stop learning!
I have been in my current position for almost 5 months and I have gained a great deal of knowledge about my institution. My colleagues and supervisors are very supportive and continually provide me with resources and workshops to continue my growth as an effective Admissions Counselor. I am learning laws and regulations in regards to practicing alternative medicine through the United States; I gain a great deal of information from the interns about their experience in the classroom, taking board/phase exams, and working with patients. Overall, the experience has been very rewarding and I look forward to learning more!
Prior to moving to the Student Services Department I work for 9 years as the admin assistant for one of our Distance Education Programs and worked closely with adminstrators and program directors regarding accrediation. I am very familiar with out Distance Education Programs and I am learning more everyday regarding our on campus programs in my new position. I would rate my knowledge overall of the institution as a whole as 7.
Emmanuel,
Accuracy is critical as the students are relying on you in the information they seek.
Bettina,,
Such good news! I can sense your excitement and this will come through when speaking with your prospective students.
Emmanuel,
Our prospective sstudents rely on our expertise and knowledge. It is about integrity and honesty in sharing this information through trust.
Emmanuel,
I believe that the more we know, the better we can serve our students.
Jennifer,
I am excited for you! You are off to a great start and have a plan in place.
I just began in my role as Admissions Representative and am taking it all in! There is so much to learn!
After doing this module, I realize the importance of looking over and learning the organizational chart. I feel this will be a great tool to understand the different departments and areas of the institution. I also believe it will be helpful when I am meeting with a perspective student. Understanding the personnel at the institution will help me determine the others in the organization that could provide useful information to the prospect. I believe I will have an overall general knowledge of each area of the institution...but, in some circumstances, it may be helpful to have the head of a department or program talk to the student.
I plan to add an organizational chart to my resource notebook. I am also planning to try and meet as many of the other employees at the institution as possible before I actually begin in my position. I will then feel more comfortable calling them and asking them to also meet with a perspective client with me. Also, if I have the opportunity to meet with them, I will have a better understanding of their role and position in the organization.
I believe the better understanding I have of each person's role, the better I will be able to discuss the different programs the institution has to offer.
I am excited!
Hello Patty,
Would it be necessary for everyone working for the institution participate in a training session that would help them inform all prospective students ( Not only agents or admission counselors should participate)?
Emmanuel
