We utilize various forms to obtain the intergrity of our school. It is done by way of enrollment agreement, placement statistics, and disclosure forms just to mention a few. All students are made knowledgable about everything up front in its entirity as no stones go unturned.
From initial contact to graduation day, I believe in educating, informing and understanding each student, which creates integrity for our institution. Hence, my philosophy is an institute’s reputation is only as knowledgeable as its students are.
Our institution has specific guidelines that are discussed in our meetings with potential students. We also have training sessions on ethical issues in this industry to make sure we are all on the same page as to what needs to be communicated and how to communicate legally. We also are trained specifically on how to explain the accreditations. In addition all of our files are double checked before any student starts school to maintain 100% accuracy.
We have put in place a mystery shopper program as well as a Quality Assurance team to monitor and confirm all representatives are complying with all regulations.
We always discuss information with the student that we are knowledge based. For instance, as Registrar, I will not discuss any information with the student that directly related to financial aid. We work within the guidelines of our knowledge and help the studnet in the best way possible. When we don't know an answer, we tell them and guide them in the right direction to get that information.
Continuing training is required of all representatives to stay on top of all regulations. In addition all calls are recorded and subject to review by a qualilty control team to ensure compliance with all regulations.
Our school has implemented a script that recruiters are supposed to follow while speaking with a student. This is a great way to make sure everyone stays within compliance.
Our institution makes sure that every prospective student has a copy of all of our course curriculum and accreditation information as well as placement rates and statistics. We are also trained to use a specific outline when interviewing and recorded on every call and interview to ensure compliance.
Hello Heather,
My school that I am employed with also has training and mystery shopping. When it comes to compliance there are many issues that can be addressed, which issue is usually stressed the most at your institution?
Best Regards,

The institution that I am employed with has taken the time to create important student consumer information flyers that list hyperlinks to the main website that answers questions related to: Financial Services, Academics, Textbook lists, Student Services, Outside resources, Student Success and Gainful Employment. Employees are to familiarize themselves with the flyer and provide the student with the correct information, even if that means searching for the answer. No employee is ever to provide information they are unsure of. In addition to the flyers, every employee undergoes training to familiarize themselves with compliancy related issues and we function as a team to help our our fellow co-worker in case they have a student with a question they are unsure on how to answer.
Our school system requires absolute integrity of the admissions staff as well as consistantly being compliant. The process begins when they are hired with an extensive training for several weeks and then continues with weekly meetings of best practices as the industry changes.
We have put in place, professional development courses through MaxKnowledge for staff and instructors to become better aquainted with compliance issues concerning accreditation and state licensing.
We feel that it has helped trmendously.
you have to know that compliance and integrity is the most important thing for your school
we do also and I feel this is very important for the student to have a full understanding
My company insures that we have the most up to date compliance by making courses such as this manditory. We also have occassional meetings and back in forth emails on how to stay on top of the state, federal, and/or accreditation regulations.
National wide training for all locations and individuals working within the state.
Our institution requires that admissions representatives show each potential student our consumer information and catalog which will give the prospective student information regarding our schools placement rates, statistics, and accrediting body etc.
Training and strict application for everyone, no exceptions.
Heather,
It is always fantastic to hear about schools that make compliance such a priority.

We have strict guidelines to follow since we our shopped in-house and over the phone. We have a script to follow over compliance-based questions to make sure that we don’t say anything noncompliant. We also walk each student through all of the paperwork, including the enrollment agreement to make sure they understand all of the terms and conditions of their enrollment. We have ongoing training and meetings at our campus to ensure all admissions reps are on board and understand the importance of compliance.
