Hi Dan:
We are hired to do a job. To me, it is expected that the basic aspect of the job is preparing for class. When that hasn't happened, it makes for an awful atmosphere (for both student and teacher). Well prepared teachers earn the trust and respect of their teacher because studenrts sense the teacher enough to put in the time and energy to prepare thier lessons.

Hi Brenda:
Organized suggests planning, thought, effort and concern for the the students learning has preceded the lesson.

Hi Dawn:
That "feeling behind" sense can be strong and even affect the attitude and behavior of the teacher. It is not a good feeling, and good preparation is the cure.

I am a role model for my students. If I show up running around, trying to find my pen or my glasses, I am not giving these students the respect they deserve. I am not using my time or their time wisely and no one wins in this situation. I, by nature am very organized but have known others who work flying by the seat of their pants. The bottom line is, when you operate like that, everyone feels a little on edge. I personally don't like the feeling I get when a person who's supposed to be in charge isn't prepared. It just feels uncomfortable for everyone involved. Taking 10 minutes before class to make sure you have everything you need just doesn't seem like too much to ask.
I had a class that I was suddenly teaching. I was not as prepared as I would have liked to have been. It was not a great experience for me because my confidence was very low and I felt my students could pick up on that.
Credibiliity is an important factor in teaching success. Students have to trust and believe what you say.
I totally agree. You must get your mind wrapped around what you plan to present that day before you get into the classroom.
Admitting to your mistakes and the ability to laugh at yourself is, to me, the basis of survival ( in life and in front of a class) Organization is a must, but as important is being able to recognize the need to go off schedule when necessary and make it a smooth transaction.
I agree. Being prepared makes an impression on your students that you are organized and know what each day brings .
When students see that the instructor is organized, prepared, and enthusiastic about this class, the instructor gains much credibility and respect from the students. Without this, the students will not be enthusiastic in return.
An organized instructor is a great role model for students. He or she presents his/her qualities of being committed, respected and trusted individual.
When an instructor is organized and prepared for each class, it models behavior to the students. It also lends credability to the instructor and garnishes an feeling of respect among the students.
If the instructor is not prepared the students pick up on that and it does not make a good fist impression.
I feel that if I am unprepared or running a minute late to class I can never uqite get into the groove of class. I read my lectures and topics before class every day
You must be prepared so you can project to the students the knowledge you have about a given subject. Being prepared also is a form of time management, and organization.
It is important because if the student see you organized then it will let them know that you are prepared.
Hi Maria:
Preparedness suggests competence and confidence in the teacher and what they have to bring to the class. Role models we can be.

Hi Isabel:
Disorganization conveys a confused state, confusing and unclear expectations, and adds unneeded angst and anxiety for students.
Hoever, prepared teachers have thought and planned, gathered what they need, are ready when class begins, and delivers a logical sequential prestation or lesson. There is time for questions. And students anticipate the teacher means business and they're gonna learn!

Do you think this will help students who are attend school with a family and working to be more disciple and dedicated?
The instructor will be more prepared to give students the information in a timely fashion as well as instill organization skills in them
