Questioning is a wonderful technique that is used in the classroom. It can be used with young children as well as adults and I find it helpful.

In my computer class I use a closed question to obtain basic information about a computer. Generally, how many hard drives are inside a computer. The response is one. The open question evolves into "What size hard drive is recommended if you download many movies and songs?" This type of open question brings many repsonses based on student knowledge and personal computer use at home.

Your example for a closed question can be interpreted to be an open question. A closed question would have a more definite answer.
