I'm sure that your reviews lead to your students' success.

Judy Mohammed

Both. Typically open questions during discussions and learning exercises and closed during a review.

Why is one material more commonly used to construct engine blocks than others?

Hello Ms. Mohammed,

Here is an example of a closed question:
"Who can tell me the name of the massage stroke I am performing?"

Here is how to make the same question open ended:
"Who can tell me the name of the massage stroke I am performing, and why it might be used?"

Jodi

Susan ,

These are very good examples. It must be interesting to see the diverse responses to the open ended question.

David,

It is a good idea to use all types of questions. Open questions lead to much discussion and sometimes we need to curtail the discussions so that we may deliver our planned lessons. I plan my lessons with the use of many questions and sometimes I have to bring the class around to the lesson topic.

Yes. It is my way of making sure the students are grasping the concepts.

Good technique. I am sure that this opens to much discussion.

What I really like to do is lead with a closed question then after they give me the answer come back with an open question. "That's right, so can you explain to me why your answer is right?"

Name a stimulant.

Can you explain what a stimulant is?
