Johjan,
Awesome! Social media is an immediate connection through Internet connectivity with your students, prospective students and alumni.

Stephanie,
Social media is a great communication tool. Many people today are on the social websites and check them often throughout the day. It does take time and attention to detail to run a site for your school.

Our school is a start-up but we plan on participating with Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin. At this time we are proceeding cautiously as we would like to post positive comments about student success stories and also provide students with a method to share as well BUT we recognize this could be a double edged sword because negative, emotional comments can end up becoming the "Google Truth" with search engines.
safety and transparency is the key
I believe that social media is a great source of followers and referrals, as always transparency is the key
I personally feel it works. It's a great tool to stay engaged with the student.
Social media in our school has been a huge asset. We are able to promote upcoming events, celebrate student achievements and track alumni placement and success with more ease than ever before!
Tracking student placement is my personal favorite. We are able to stay up to date on where alumni are working and with links directly to their company's website, obtain the required info to get that all important proof of placement.
Social Media has been a ground breaking addition to our school. We use it for many functions such as spreading the word, celebrating student achievements, promoting upcoming events and my most favorite would be tracking alumni success and placement.
Keeping in touch with alumni has never been easier. We are able to constantly track and verify a students placement. With direct links from the students page to their place of employment, it makes it very easy to pay our alumni visits at their place of work for follow up visits and the all important proof of placement!

My school has a facebook page and it is an amazing way to reach out to the community and for the students to share their success' and testimonials.
When students come to visit our school we inform them that they can join and become "friends" to see what and how the students learn in our Expanded Functions Dental Assisting program with Radiography. Students post their accomplishments and activities in clinic and lab. Also the student joins their professional organization ADAA which needs to be "liked" and gives pertinent information in their chosen profession on Facebook. I remind the student that possible employers maybe looking as well and to keep it professional at all times.
As a Dental Assistant Professional for 30 years as well as an Instructor, I believe to stay in touch with our students goes beyond the classroom. The instructor must take it to the next level which is social media. Technology today is so important to engage the student and not loose them to the old school "Charlie Brown" boring monotone voice and flat pictured book. I feel blessed that as an Instructor and the owner of the school that I can keep my students learning and satisfied in their program for their success, which is ultimately our success. SMILES WORLDWIDE! Just love my students!
Our institution uses social media to maintain our students informed and updated with the institution.
Alain,
It is really a great way to get the word out on what is happening at your school. Many students today are very familiar with the social media sites and are quick to check you out.
Patty Aronoff
Karen,
Wow! Your school has jumped right in! Communication through a social media is a way to connect with our students and part of the culture today.
Patty Aronoff
James,
That's okay! Not everybody is ready to jump into social media at their schools.
Patty Aronoff
Elicia,
Interesting approach! Getting in student involvement shows dedication to their program.
Patty Aronoff
Elicia,
It's exciting to see in pictures the daily life of our students in our school.
Patty Aronoff
Katie,
Make sure you get permission from the students to use their photos and names in public account. It's just a good practice to maintain.

our school is a member of many social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter, instagram and they are great. through these websites current students can follow us up on school activities, updates, open houses, events and any news concerning to the university. In addition any new prospect leads can check us out and send questions regarding our school programs.
