Why the title of counselor can not be use

Could this be misleading

Admission Requirements.

In our University the Integrated Services Officer must be well documented about the admission and the enrollment requirements. The officer must explain to the student the steps to take the placement tests as well as the different types of interviews according to the program of study

Helpful

This information has been very helpful. I didn't know admissions had to meet so many different requirements.

Radio-Tv

I didn't know there was regulations on these. Neat to know!

What are the characteristics of the Integrated Services Officer?

Once the prospective students received the correct career orientation by the Counselor, the Integrated Services Officer becomes a key element in the process of admission and registration. It is crucial for the prospective students to find in the Integrated Services Officer the guide they need for their admission and registration process. The Integrated Services Officer must be a people person, as well as have excellent communication skills. It must be a person with an extensive knowledge of the academic programs of the University, as well as the different forms of financial aids and student loans. This officer must be able to explain everything to the prospective students in the enrollment process and to clarify any doubt. They must ensure that the students take their courses in such a way that guarantee their graduation and success.

Informational

It's always good to freshen up! I enjoyed the first part of this!

Why the title of "Representative" and not "Counselor?"

During the first module, one of the regulations stated that anyone who is in enrollment or admissions should not use the word "counselor" in their title description... that using the word, "representative," would be a better and more compliant choice. Why the distinction? Specifically, why would using the title of counselor be non-compliant?

What is the role of a Guidance-Counselor in the admission process?

When the prospect is undecided about the career or program to choose, it is important to refer to a Guidance-Counselor for career exploration guidance to help this prospect find his/her career. Eventually, this will increase retention and career completion rates.

Institutional Marketing

I would say that as far as institutional marketing, my university is working pretty hard to improve in this area. We are a small private university, so the funds aren't always there for expensive marketing tools. We recently started airing commercials on television, which has been a big help in getting our name out to the public. We are updating and modernizing all of our brochures and publications to be more relevant to today's generation. We go to every fair and event that we can to get our university attention. I am excited to see how these new marketing strategies will help our university in the long run.

Importance of Graduation

At our institution, we understand that graduation is one of the most important moments that a student can achieve. It is a memory that the individual, as well as family and friends will remember for a life time. We do a very nice graduation at our institution. We are set in on old plantation grounds, and we have several buildings original to that time period. We have our graduation outside in our pavilion area that is surrounded by the magnificent old buildings. It makes for a special ceremony that you just can't find elsewhere. I am glad that our institution puts a special emphasis on the graduation ceremony. It is something that the individual will always remember as one of their biggest accomplishments in life.

Organization and Admissions Paperwork

I enjoyed reading the section about the organization of the admissions paperwork. I think one of the most important aspects of being a person who works in an admission department is organization. There are so many applications coming in on a daily basis that if you were to not be organized and get off track, it could be really bad. Our institution still uses paper files as well as computer files, so we have double the organization to do at the moment. It is important that one creates a system that helps them stay in compliance of all rules and regulations so that you can get files done thoroughly and in a timely manner.

Definitions

Some of the terms and their definitions that we use at our institution include: Official Transcript: An official transcript is the University's certified statement of your academic record. It is printed on special University specific paper, and includes the official seal of the University. It is delivered to another school in a sealed envelope. Once it is opened by an individual, it is no longer considered official. Conditional Acceptance: Someone who is conditionally acceptance can be registered for classes, but can not receive any financial aid until the conditional acceptance becomes full acceptance. An example of conditional acceptance is when we are waiting on an official transcript from someone who is currently taking classes at another college or university, but we have their in-progress transcript. We will conditionally accept them until their final transcript comes in, and then will switch them to full accept if they meet GPA requirements as well. Prospects: People who are inquiring about the university, but have not made up their mind to apply.

social media

You are interested in social media like Facebook and Twitter. How does your school use these media and what is your opinion? Our school uses a marketing specialist who handles all news forums. She manages this daily and watches to make sure we do not do anything outside of promoting our college in a healthy manner. we use social media to post news, updates and student success spot lights.

What if the prospective student doesn't meet with career services or p

I do not think a student would be able to make an informed decision if they did not meet with the correct people on the campus tour. I think if the student is serious about enrolling it should be a requirement that they meet with certain departments at the campus upon enrolling. we follow this at our campus as a best practice to ensure the student is making the best educated decision.

What is the maximum amount of transfer credit your institution will ac

Our institution will accept up to 50% of transfer credits however they have to be of a passing grade of a C or above. We also have an articulation agreement with a community college so, we have to be very sure when transferring of any credits. Our Dean and Academic dept. is heavily involved in the process which makes it easier on the rep to avoid any compliance issues

What are the most important qualities and responsibilities of an admis

I believe the most important part of an Admissions lead is someone who will spend time each day coaching and training their employees. I think its important to do this because its easy to get burned out in Admissions. Reps want to feel important and I think there is much more than setting daily goals when dealing with Ad. Reps.

the notebook

This is my first time taking this program .It has been so resourceful for my institution . Now I can organized our first Notebook that will allow us to be more effective in our organizational chart and make everyone responsible of their duties. This is a great course!

staying current

Why is it so important for the admissions representative to stay current?

Disclosures

Role of the Admissions Representative

It is very important for the admissions representative to be ethical in all doings. The necessary disclosures must be made to the students before enrolment.
