Title IV

Financial aid is a long process to get the accreditation. If your school is waiting to be accredited for financial aid once the school is accredited and receives the Title IV does the admission representative have to attend training to learn about the Title IV?

I have many questions about providing job placements for students. I know that you can not guarantee any student that they will be hired by a certain company.

Printing and updating copies of Rules & Regulations in notebook binder

Should an admissions Representative print & copy all the rules & regulations and have enough space in the notebook binder or should we have a separate binder for the rules and regulations being that it is a lot of information to print out.

Do you have to memorize each and every rule during this course. Or can you continue to study all of these rule and regulation as well as updating new information every month.

Obviously the prospective student has come to your institution because you have a program that they may be interested. It is very important to know what that program has to offer and how it can benefit that individual.

Its very important for the admissions representative to know how each department is there to help and support their students. Knowing what each department does will allow you to know where you can go to for certain questions.

Admissions Requirements

It is very important to know the admissions requirements for your institution. You cannot let your personal opinion on the applicants potential for success hinder the acceptance process.

Creating a Resource Notebook

Creating a resource notebook is a great tool to better yourself as an admissions representative. It will not only allow you to see what you are learning in the course, but also allow you to keep all of your reference material organized for when you need to refer back to it.

Placement Services

In my opinion, the placement coordinator should always meet the student BEFORE they begin their program. They are able to set their expectations on the front end so the student knows what to expect by the end of their program. This method seems to be working very well with my school.

Enrollment Agreements

Are social security numbers required on enrollment agreements when your school is accredited?

Training

Do employees who ONLY sell to consumer students need to be up to date on their CEUs? I have several employees who ONLY sell to business clients and not consumer students. They wouldn't be required to take this training, would they?

How soon is too soon?

How soon should it be in determining whether a prospective student would get through the admissions process? e.g. The first initial call or when meeting face-to-face.

Also ask for an organization chart. If there is an employee handbook or policies and procedures manual you might find job descriptions there. Also ask for a directory that hopefully includes the name of every employee plus their phone, fax, and email information.

It is possible that all programs list basic admissions requirements such as minimum age and whether a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
