Our school has a facebook which shows pictures of the students from our previous and current classes. Also has information on job fairs and other opportunites.

We have just started using both sites as a vehicle to communicate to our students. So far, the feedback received has been very positive. Our sites are maintenance by our corporate office to ensure they are streamlined.

Yes, we use Facebook and have a Twitter account. However, it is not leveraged to the degree it could be used. This isn't for lack of awareness of the [potential impact. Rather, our marketing budget is limited and we find that the advertising investment in Facebook doesn't generate leads.

We have a very targeted audience. When we advertise on Facebook we get a lot of curious people, but each click costs money. Our program is academically rigorous, and posts about our faculty publication get some feedback...but not much.

Social media is part of our long term strategy. However, social media is labor intensive. If you cannot give it the attention it deserves, it is better to focus attention elsewhere.

Thanks,

Matthew Kenney

My school has a Facebook page, that is maintained by our main campus admissions department. I think it is a good way to get referrals.

Our school uses Facebook as a means of referrals, and getting the word out on class dates and schedules. It is also used to show community activities we are participating in, and day to day campus life.

We just started using our Facebook page. I think it is a great way to generate referrals.

We love social media it gets our name out and helps with advertising. We also post pictures of what are students are doing now.

We just started maintaining our Facebook page. I think it's a great avenue for promoting the school and engaging students. However, we are not allowed to have any "friends" on Facebook. How would you use Twitter?

We have competitions within the school's curriculm, and outside which we post the accomplisments, wins, certifications, and Students love to engage with our Facebook page, seeing their graduation pictures, competition projects, and generally spread the word how benificial the school is.

We do maintain a Facebook page. It is mostly used for posting events that will be held on campus and posting pictures from the events.

Although I have spent considerable time on Social media personally I have never used it as a recruitment tool or a tool for referrals for my school. This is probably one area I need to investigate more as the times dictate it.

We have a Facebook page and post events that happen on campus and pictures to show the activities. It generates interest in the campus and students can repost to their individual pages. The feedback thus far has been positive.

We use Facebook mainly because its widely established and most are familiar with it. Twitter hasnt caught on with us because facebook is fulfilling what we need.

Social Media is growing by the millisecond. It is very important to keep up with the trends to maximize reach and also show students and applicants we are with them

Belinda,

It is a great tool! Facebook not only gives the feeds but it also gives the world pictures of your school.

Paul,
Social media is part of our students every day life. It's on their phones it's on their laptop it's on the computers.

Our institute uses facebook and we love it! It is so encouraging to see students put in comments and leave reviews about our institute that helps other s to want to come check us out.

Our school already uses the social media, for example school Facebook. Our students make very good use. They are on it all the time. We introduce them to this media from our very first conversation. On a different topic I was not aware of all different resources for updates, thanks.

Thomas,
It is very complex on the backend. You'll need to find someone that you trust to educate you on social media. Some schools actually hire an expert to get them started.

Linda ,
It is a great way to show what your school is doing not only to current students, but also alumni and prospective students.
