Elyse,
Agreed! That is why we need to have rules in place for the use of social media.
Patty Aronoff
Pedro,
Facebook is a wonderful promotional tool. There needs to be monitoring of the site and rules regarding its usage.

I'm not schooled in the art of social media. What are best ways to become an expert?
Our school uses both. It is a great way to communicate happenings around the campus and for students to share.
We use social media to share upcoming events, student achievements, and for alumni to stay in touch. It's really important to monitor the sites as most of the internet is "forever" and we would hate to have incorrect or offensive behavior associated with our school's name.
We have a wonderfull Facebook page and there are so many wonderfull things that are posted on this page. They include activities, whats happening, pictures etc. There so many wonderfull responses from current Students. This is a great way for our potential Students to see what is happening at our Institution and how great it is.
Jenny,
That is good to hear. Many of us are new at the social media sites.
Patty Aronoff
Daniel,
That is a very successful and well-known website. Many employers are seeking applicants through their postings on that site.
Patty Aronoff
John,
It is a whole new territory. Many schools have to devote a single staff member to keep up with the sites.

Our School use Social Media really well. We keep in contact with students, prospective students, former students, about upcoming and past events, actual or new programs, information about School. in my opinion it is a really great Tool.
My company uses LinkedIn to connect our consumer students with our Business to Business clients that may be looking for qualified applicants.
We have not fully explored what these Social sites can do to increase students' interest. I believe that this is one of the best ways to create awareness to new students and maintain rapport with your existing ones.
Stephen,
Social media is such a new territory. We are just learning the power and the strength that social media has upon his constituents.

Recently our university held a discussion about Facebook. There was concern that our incoming students were starting their own pages without university oversight. We are considering starting university sponsored pages for each entering class so we can help ensure that correct information is being provided.
merlene,
Whatever you post, the world will see. Caution should be the first step in preparation.
Patty Aronoff
Stephany,
We should always use the school resources. It is not good practice to go outside those resources.
Patty Aronoff
Sara,
We should always keep our personal side private. There are always many ways through your school to stay connected.
Patty Aronoff
Erika,
People love pictures. Many schools like to incorporate pictures in their pages.
Patty Aronoff
Stephanie ,
The social media is a great way to keep connected. The site has to remain current or readers will quickly become bored and draw away.
Patty Aronoff
Christy,
We are just learning about the potential of social media. A slow, learned approach is often the best path to take.
