I am not too savvy with facebook and twitter but our Director of admissions is and has just set it up. It is an exciting new way of keeping in touch with current events and communicate what our school has to offer. It has a link where prospective students can request information about our program.
Huichi,
Many people are conflicted with its use. Many students do not want their pictures or information shared on the internet. Be watchful!
Patty Aronoff
Larry,
If you use social media, be sure to monitor it daily. It needs to have rules for posting and dealing with the information that is shared.
Patty Aronoff
Tania ,
Social media is the new frontier for staying connected online. Many schools are using this useful communication link.
Patty Aronoff
As of this writing, our institution has not embraced the use of Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Etc.). Personally, I am conflicted about their usefulness, but at this age in time, social media site are becoming more and more popular and "the" place to go to for consumers to learn more about the company they are interested. Therefore, I would recommend using them.
I personally do not engage in the use of this media but our school is now incorporating it into our Marketing mix. That process is closely monitored by our Marketing Dept. and PR firm for compliance and effectiveness. If employees want to post something to these Media groups that involves the college, we submit it to Marketing for approval and upload first.
Our school has social media. We have a Facebook and twitter account which I think is a great way for student and prospect students to be up to date with school events.
cindy,
Interesting that you are adding the additional information and resources. A great idea!
