With Addmission's being the driving force of the institution, I believe it is essential that during the admissions process to provide the prospective with accurate information before the potential student make their final decision.

Marketing Strategies

I find it beneficial that agents and admissions representatives know how the institution is advertised for. This way, they can keep track of how prospective students are referred to institutions and document it. I use this information to determine the best advertising strategies.

Statutes, Rules, and Regulations

The statutes,rules, and regulations are lengthy. However, they provide guidelines to follow. Keeping up to date with statutes and rules are very important for conducting business and state inspection.

Terminology

I find the terminologies very helpful. They help to properly name staff within an institution. Staff titles are important since they define job description. I find the distinction between an admissions employee and counselor, advisor.

What should you do to enforce that agents come to school meetings?

Being Honest pays off

Honesty pays off in the long run. Students will eventually appreciate this and will get others to enroll. It is called word of mouth.

Foreign Student Enrollments.

Foreign students would not necessarily have a social security number, alien card, etc. but would be permitted to attend classes if they were in the USA on a student visa and plan to pursue their education here and return to their country of residency thereafter. Can we enroll those students in our school programs? Is there some other permission document that they would need to acquire prior to enrollment?

Being Ethical Throughout the Admissions Process

I've worked in admissions for several years and found that when I'm ethical in enrolling the student it also helps the retention rate for other departments such as academics, career services and graduation which promotes the success of the student and the school .

Incorrect Admissions Information.

I have experienced that whether you speak directly or indirectly with a prospective student, that the best way to make any corrections on information that was subsequently given out to them, is to do it in writing. This way, you have a paper trail of the corrective measure that was taken to ensure that the prospective student was accurately informed.
