late starts

we have to be willing and able to adapt to every situation, make changes and overcome any obstical.

involvement

We are just not instructors and they are just not students.... We are a family in the industry

Former Students

Former students are a great value. telling them from the instructors point is one thing, There are times i will have graduates talk with my students. A much better precieved value

expectations

If the student does not know what to do or when to do it....... how will they learn to do the task and succeed

career services

I agree with this statment also if the school provides for employment services this has to be a plus and I believe the schools that do this has a better relationship with the student

retention at admission

I agree the more the student knows about school the help he can get the activities all of these pertain to retention I beleive all schools should have an orientation and I believe it should not be a chore I seen some people work through the process as fast as possible just to get it done this is a mistake

employment skills

this is one of the most important parts of educating the student. most don't understand the process and don't realize how important first interview is. be early be dressed appropriately have a reference cheat sheet talk with sincere voice control be prepared to give examples be prepared to do demostrations when the students returns help him feel good about himself if he gets the job celebrate if not try to find out why and help him interview better give encouragement let the student practice on you.

teaching style

one of the things that must be remembered is not every one gets it the first time and sometimes not the third time be patient show different avenues of learning to get the same results In other words show different ways to get the same results Use different teachins styles take in new ideas talk with the students to see how they learn best don't be afraid to make mistakes but learn from them.

Orientation

I believe the first day may be the most important day of class. This is where you welcome the students and build exitement for the upcomming course. This is also where you convey the expectations you have of them and what they can expect from you.

Orientation, First Day & First Week

The main key is preperation. If faculty and other department services, such as student services, financial aid, etc. staff are involved with all information necessary for students to make a smooth transition to attend school, their experience perception will be positive.

Faculty Involvement

Faculty involvement does give new student's a sense of well being and support. This is definitely necessary to help them succeed in school.

Vocabulary and terms

When you have a multicultural students in a group is is important to teach vocabulary and terms they can understand.

Student Orientation

I agree that their should be a time proven method employed by the school or any institution that gives a new student/employee all the information and resources available he/she needs to make their new experience comfortable for them.

Student Experience

I always make an effort to ensure my student's are receiving what they expected- and more. I make myself available to my students' and give them a lot of personal attention to enhance their experience. This shows them that they are not just in a group, but are recognized by their instructor as caring about their individual needs and progress.

Dress Code

Should be address on first day of class

Modern Networking Dynamics

With the advent of multiple mobile communication technologies, organizational cultures have developed a confusing and dualistic nature. Many of these technologies are reducing or narrowing human communication abilities while developing new, basic, simplistic forms of conveying short-term understanding. Oversimplification of communications in the workplace creates a culture of response rather than a culture of rigorous discussion where meaningful long-term educational development takes place. Admissions retention

The information is really good :), I think there is always something to work on V-. I would like to put into practice the checklist and self checklist to help our admissions department identify and help our prospect students and improve retention ^-).

Retention

Our school has several differant times during the year when we address employment. We also keep track of all students who graduate and read Emails about thier sucess in getting a job. This really changes some students drive to want to finish all thier classes and in some cases they even want to do much better .

Attention = Retention

It is a proven fact that attention to individual student needs results in an increase in retention. This attention is the responsibility of all staff members of an educational institution, not just the instructors.

Faculty Involvement

It take all faculty members to work together to ensure the success of the students. It is not a one man show to do this, it takes team work.
