I placed policies and procedures to keep me up to date with the information.

I've put in all the printed links that have rules, laws, and regulations that are vital for the school to abide by as well as myself seeing as though I represent Harrison and they entrust me to provide proper guidance and information within the parameters of school regualtions.

So far, my Resource Notebook consists of a copy of the ACCSC rules and regulations, placement information covering the past five years, course guides and descriptions, financial aid reference material, and a copy of the Agents/Admissions Reps Regulatory Laws/Rules from this section of the course. More to come! The terminology used in the course is helping me build a better understanding of the position and the regulations that come along with it.

I have placed the laws/regulations, and pertinent information regarding the programs my school offers into my Resource Notebook. I have discovered that an individual who solicits prospective students for a fee, must obtain an agents permit from the board. At the previous institution I worked for, we were not required to do so.

I have placed all Agent/Admissions Reps Regulatory Laws and Rules, School Catalog, School Enrollment Agreements, Policies and Procedures, Marketing Plans, Policies and Procedures, Organizational Chart, Placement Information , and Institutional Accreditation and Approvals.

I have learned that all Admission Representatives have to be granted a permit from the Ohio State Board of Career Colleges and Schools.

I've printed and filled out the Application for Agent's Permit. I have discovered that there are several regulations regarding Ohio agents of which I was unaware. These include being unable to solicit students currently enrolled at other institutions and the fact that, if my school's license is revoked, mine is revoked as well.

I was surprised to read that you have to renew yearly, however pleased that knowing this now means I can be sure to keep my resource book updated I also bookmarked the State Board Newsletter to help keep up with changes yearly as I move forward in my new role.

As a new rep dedicated to student reentry, I will be enrolling students only after they are dropped or withdrawn. So far, that is not too many per quarter, so keeping a notebook with all the policies up to date is an excellent idea to keep me in tune while working on other job duties.

I have compiled most of the information on our campus, programs, directors, etc. as well as our catalog.

I did find the links to the Ohio State Boards iniformation very very helpful and have now added that as well.

I have placed agents/admissions reps regulatory laws/rules as well as Chapter 3332.01 Career colleges and school definitions.

I didn't know I had to take this training course.

My Resource Notebook now includes the College Catalog, Accreditation Information, an Enrollment Agreement, as well as an Organizational Chart, Operating Policies/Procedures and current Marketing Plans. I have added the Ohio State Laws, Rules and Statutes.

I was not aware of need to notify the Board, in writing, and ultimately the need to return the agent permit in the event of agent dismissal or resignation.

Well I am just starting my notebook today, I was going to add in all the print outs from the course as well as an updated info I may find on the Ohio State Board of Career Schools and Colleges website.

My resource book has information on current course offerings, frently asked questions with acceptable responses and some guidelines for setting appointments/interviewing with students. I was not previously aware that agents had to renew their licensure each year. I also found it helpful to know what you are not allowed to say about other institutions during an interview/conversation.

barbara,

This is something you would create yourself.

I have a question about the Resource Notebook. Is this something I create as I listen to the training or is this something that has already been created that I can copy to study? I am just getting started so I have not created a notebook for myself yet. Thanks

I'm a big fan of the resource notebook. I've worked in proprietary education for about 15 years and have found that having a "go-to" book with compliance information and product knowledge is the way to go. I try and update mine quarterly since we are in an ever changing industry.

I did pick up in the first section that even if you have a permit from one school, that if you change schools you need to go through the process all over again with the new school.

Currently, my resource notebook is filled with my school's catalog and program information. I also am keeping a cheat notebook for quick information. Because I am new to the industry, I was not aware of any of the rules and regulations imposed upon institutions.

all of the laws and ethics are in the notebook. I didn't know that if an agent makes false statements that the instituion is also responsible for that agent's actions.

Some of the information in the Resource Notebook are the schools catalog, enrollment process, enrollment agreement, and the schools policy and procedure manual. I have discovered that the rules and regulations are self explanatory and are good practices to adhere to.

do's and don'ts of recruiting and how to comply with the rules and regulations of the industry. do not guarantee outcomes is important to abide by.
