It is really part of an admissions representative to trate prospective students as a posoble buyers for your products (education)???

Institutional Catalog

Having the privilege of working with the preparation of our school catalog, enrollment agreement forms...etc, from it's initial stage and working along with CIE has provided me with a strong understanding of how Rules, Regulations, Statutes and of course a strong sence of Ethics all work hand in hand for all parties involved.

Admissions for online programs

Although the requirements for admissions reps is the same for traditional versus online enrollments it is important to note that there are major diffrences inthe information that the online rep has to communicate to the prospective enrollment regarding online learning.

credits transfers

what does a student do when they want to transfer credits from a certify institution and the new school does not want to accept them?

I think it is better to have the person do the enrollment agreement within 24 hrs of doing the interview. Theinformation is fresh in their heads and the more time that passes the more of a chance they will change their minds.

Catalog

I think being able to know the information that is in a catalog canhelp you be a better admissions representative. The more knowledge you have about the programs offered the better you can serve a potential student.

Ignorance is no Excuse!!!!

Even is Complaince doesnt come out and update us in meetings and etc. It is always updated in our catlaogs and operations manuel and etc. So it is our job to continue to stay afloat of the new rules and regulations.

It is important that we treat Students as Students and treat them well

The best leads are that which comes from a friend or relative of a student that you once helped. Those have the highest conversion rate!!

The reality to the situaion- Managers pick? Integrity or Numbers?

After Managing for Several years I notice that most times we the managers create a "environment" that either produces Positive/ Negative Results. Let me break it down. I remember years ago students where looked up on Students and the main goal was to set them up for success. Enrolling them in a program that they want and we would continually support them till graduation. But i noticed over the years we (management) has turned what use to be a consultative selling environment into a boiler room with boiler room expectation. So we now look at students as numbers and we need this amount of students and if not- then you are FIRED. So it forces admissions rep to know longer uphold Integrity but rather do anything possible to get a student. So thus you have reps now lying to students, you have reps enrolling students in medical program when they want to be a computer analyst. Since reality has sunk in- I have done my best to be "REAL" with my teams and most importantly corporate and i have never had an issue- B/C i tell them this is not a boiler room and there has to be metrics but i will not force my reps into a situation where they are forced to think outside the box negatively because they need a enrollment. Something to think about....... Mind you- I am not making excuses for negative behavior i am just flipping the coin for a change!!!

Your Institutions Websites

To me having a good website can be one of the best things for your institution. Now and days it is the first thing that people look at when searching for somewhere to attend courses. It needs to be "stupid easy." If the person searching or reviewing a website is finding it difficult to toggle back and forth between pages, search bars or anything like that they will move on to a different website. So it is critical to have a very well laid out website.

How often the rules and regulations change and does the institutions get notified before or after of such of change?

It is essential that we take the time to make sure all paperwork is filled out completely and accurately.

Staying up to date

Staying up to date is very important to perform effectively for example: I keep my binder notebook updated, check website, meet with our Director, and differemt program Directors.

I do belive that if the whole staff works together the whole school will do great!
