National accreditation vs regional

I am new to admissions at the College Career level. I am currently training and learning about state licensing and accreditation. Is it more beneficial as a school to be nationally or regionally accredited?

Admission and Marketing

I came from an independent school where the Admissions Director and Associate Director balanced the roles of both recruiting students and marketing the school as well. Is this a commonality at the Higher Ed level or usually is there a separate office and staff for admissions and marketing?

Agent vs a Counselor

As someone who was formerly an admission counselor, has anyone struggled with the change of transitioning from an admission counselor to an admission agent? While they are very different in some ways, I am curious as to how "in depth" we are permitted to be with the students in which we are assessing without being a "counselor" from an advisory prospective?

Competitors

There is know reason to talk bad about another school to make your school look better.

Job Placement

IT is not within guidelines to guarantee a job after graduation...

Placement Rates

Don't inflate placement rates to get the student enrolled.

Don't state false numbers....

If you don't know certain numbers that don't make them up....

Up to date info.

Keeping a Resource Notebook, continuing training, and staying on top of the ever changing Regulatory Law/Rules will make us great agents.

Unstanding the Institution

For me the best way to understand our institution is to basicly job shadow different aspects of MJCC. Ask questions, gain knowledge of every part of the educationl process so that we may better communitate with our potential students.

Utilizing student services

As admissions representatives, it is important to inform your prospective and current students about the student services department and what they offer. On average, students who become more involved in the school with activities, extracurriculars, community service, etc tend to be more successful.

Hard Sell - Easy Sell

As a new Rep I believe some of the potential students that seem hard to sell could be easy and some of the easiest sells will be hard.

Getting aquainted

As a new Rep, other than reviewing all the new information, what is the best way of getting aquainted with all the new information.

Accreditation

Why is it not required to be accredited per the board?

Library / Resource Center

How come this is not a requirement for ALL schools? Is there some regulation that needs to be done, that prevents it from being an all-around requirement?

Discussing Tuition

I realize that as an 'agent', we are not the primary source for the tuition/FA information. However, when we are asked questions, how do we address the ones we are not supposed to answer? Do we say "let me get somebody for you", "I'm not sure" - I don't want to lose the confidence of the student, by appearing less-than-knowledgeable, though I know I'm not supposed to discuss certain things.

Transfer of credit

I have been trained to say that transfer credits will be determined based on the receiving school but that I should direct them towards the registrar before saying anything else. Thoughts?

TRANSFERABILITY

WHAT ARE SOME REASONS A STUDENTS CREDITS MAY NOT TRANSFER?

ADVERSITING

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT THAT ALL RAIDO AND TV ADDS BE REGULATED BY THE STATE IN WHICH THE INSTITUTION IS LOCATED?

A good way to keep up

I am new to this role and I was offered some great advice that I thought others could benefit from. I was struggling with how to learn each of the programs in order to better serve the students and someone on my team told me that a great way to sort everything out is to look at one program offered each week and learn as much as possible about that course in that week. That way you can slowly build a solid foundation of knowledge.
