Finding the best languag to use when explaining accrediation to a stud

It is important for students to appreciate what it takes for an institution to gain accreditation. Yet one must be cautious not to be to verbous in the process so the best language is needed to share this in the simplest but most clear manner.

diploma mills

Diploma mills are a really issue for society. There needs to be information available that tells when a school is legit or not. There are many students that come in to our school who went to diploma mills and are not even aware of it.

Background check

The background check is very beneficial to students. It helps students make good choices based on their background and keeps them from attending a program that they can't get a job in.

Enrollment

The restrictions put in place during the enrollment process are completely necessary. It makes the students feel strongly about the school they are choosing and show that we as a school care about the success of our students.

Students and their understanding

It blows my mind the number of students that I have talked with about accreditation and what it is. There are so many students out there that have no idea why it is important, they are just looking for a school with their program. I feel that it is very important to tell them why they need to look for schools with accreditation and how that could benefit them in the long run when it comes to employment.

How do we keep up with changing trends

The job market is always changins so it is important to keep in touch and be able to be aware of what the maket is like any at given point in time.

Getting to know your school

Being that we need each other to make the school successful, It is improtant to take the time and get to now management and the instructors in order to give a well rounded view to the prospective students

Helping students feel comfortable

It is necessary to know what language or phrases are helpful and which need to be avoided when meeting with a prospective student the first time. Hopefully we can share experiences and catch phrases that have worked for all of us. For example " I am here to help" I hear what you are saying" or "Is this what you mean?"

keeping up with current regulations

It would be helpful to know some on line blogs or sites one can go to in order to keep up with what is going on with regulations and new initatives.

Agents

The question about if you can hire individuals to solicit for an school was interesting, that they must be agents who work for the school is a must to keep the integrity of the school.

The Admission Process and Paperwork

Although it may be time consuming, I truly believe the charts offered in this section will assist greatly in finding the different enrollment agreement things. This is such a useful key to have and go by to be more efficient. The information about the tuition and fees was also very informative. It made me wonder if and how much our enrollment or registration fee is? I will have to look and find out. Last but not least, it was nice learning about the clock/credit hours. The term clock hours was new to me. With that said, this section really helped.

Iam a instructor and I even go over the subjects again on the first day about program expectations outcomes and job placement we are a clock hour school you timed missed has to be made up GPA I make sure stsdents know the people in placment and financial aide. We also have a booklet we pass out and make them sign. I really enjoyed this course Thanks so much

Breaking the bad news about Financial Aid to the Student

I know sometimes when a student comes in, they may be expecting financial aid to cover the full cost of their tuition, but this does not always happen. What are some good tactics and responses to ease the student into making monthly payments each month to their education? Has anyone had a goo/bad experience with this situation?

Financial Aid

We as reps do provide an overview of the financial resources available, it is not our job to walk the student through the financial aid process. Our Financial Aid staff will assist in facilitating that.
