Admissions Rep

I found this class to be incredibly helpful. It is great that agents need to continually renew their permit in order to stay current.

Training

This training was included in my onboarding for my new job. I consider this course a great learning tool.

Admissions

For the past 10 years I have been an online Admissions Rep. Now I am in a postion where I see students face to face. What tips would you have for me?

ads

Ads and word of mouth from happy students will help bring prospective students to your school.

rules

Staying within the guildelines keep everyone compliant and students will gain from staying the course.

Credits

What department typically determines what credits (and how many) are transferrable?

Extension of Marketing

The internet has a lot of information about schools and colleges, some of it true and some of it false. How do sites such as glassdoor, yelp, etc. impact Fortis?

Scholarships

Are there any specific scholarships that might be available to students that are offered through the college? This is aside from government financial aid and outside student loans.

Social Media and Marketing

Is it appropriate to make a request to friends and family to "share" information about your school's programs, so long as you do not promise any compensation to them?

Admissions Rep

Since I have never worked in the education field before, I find this training to be very helpful. I am surprised that an agent or admissions representative cannot actively solicit students who are currently enrolled in other colleges (as I understand it). Can anyone please expand upon this or explain the reasoning behind it? Thank you!

Misrepresentation

In this section I found just how much misrepresentation can affect not only the perspective student, but the school as well. Has anyone come across any questionable cases?

New Hire

Hi Everyone today is my first day. I have just been hired as an Admissions Representative and I am excited to take this course and gain knowledge of the new Rules and Regulations that the State of Ohio follows. I just completed the first module and at first did not do great but I took it again and did better. Looking foward to communicating with everyone.

School Catalog

Something that I have found very helpful is also to e-mail our school catalog to the students, that way they cannot "lose" it. I also have it posted on a board in the main office area, that was it is available to them that way as well. Hope this helps!

Competitive Integrity

I found this subject matter to be very important to a Admissions Rep. There is a very thin line to be followed and keeping the competition out of the conversation is highly important. Staying positive about another institution is the simplest way to stay compliant.

Representative

It is extremely important to communicate all policies of the designated school. New students must be aware of policies and the cost of going further with their education. The admissions representative must explain all of admission information clearly.

Accreditation

May schools go through accreditation processes & annual processes which flips the whole school upside down. Unfortunately, it is something that must be done but many prospective students don't understand or even take the time to understand accreditation or the benefits that it can offers the students.

Staying Up-to-Date- and Compliant

I learned that it is always important to gather information as you go through and complete your agent/admissions training course and update documents on a regular basis. So that you won't have to do it all at once or back track.

Understanding Your Institution

The best way to learn about the programs at your school is to review the catalogs, talk with individual who work in the education department, sit in on a class, and talk with the placement department to learn where grads find a job at.

Admission Process and Paperwork

When preparing for and conduct the admissions interview, the agent should prepare the students file with a checklist of question and discussion points that are required during the interview.

CM202

I learned that a school employee whose primary duties do not include soliciting to prospective students may engage inthe enrollment of students on the schools premises without having to secure an agent permit.
